It's been a while...

I have been pondering the usefulness of blogging in this last month. I have not yet come to a conclusion. Any thoughts? I don't want misuse my time. I want to be careful to do my best in all things. Anyway, hopefully this blog will still fulfill it's purpose of providing family updates and encouraging other believers.

And since I haven't posted in a while I have many, many pictures to share. So prepare youself. I tried to pick only the best. My personal favorite is the picture of my 9 month pregnant friend Laurie. What a cute little watermelon she has swallowed! I have also uploaded pictures from our recent trip to the zoo, John Caedmon's first haircut and some pool pictures. There are many so enjoy scrolling down and down and down and down.

CBS and started back and I am learning how to teach the 4th-6th graders this year! It's a fun and somewhat scary because it's new role. I am also embarking on some new roles with the children at church. Pray for clear discernment in that role as we work through what God wants for our children's ministry. I know that God will equip and enable me to do what he has called me to and help me to be wise with my time management.

Until next time....

Swimming with our friends

A picnic at the pool

Friday, September 2nd the kids and I enjoyed swimming with our friends Laurie, Josiah, Emma, Dawn and Anna. It was the last big swim of the season at their community pool. We enjoyed eating a picnic lunch and hanging out. Chloe is doing well learning to swim. Abbey has learned to kick around and swim in her floatie swimsuit. John Caedmon also learned how to float in his life jacket without falling over too much. It was a fun and relaxing day. It was great that we were the only ones at the pool. The older kids were back in school so we had the big pool all to ourselves!

What a fun day swimming! From L to R

John Caedmon's First Hair Cut

John Caedmon's first hair cut. Bye-bye curls! (Sunday September 4)

Well John Caedmon is now 18 months old and we decided it was time for a big boy hair cut. Many miss the curls but I like the new clean cut style. I guess it's kinda sad to see the baby curls go but you can only stay a baby for so long. I imagine someday in the oh-so-distant-future we will have another baby to come along and I will enjoy another head of curls or whatever God may give. So for now I am enjoying my new toddler boy! Truly children are a blessing from the Lord!

Where's all my hair?

A fun day at the Zoo

John Caedmon with Granddad

Last Saturday we went to the zoo for it's 50th birthday celebration. We had a great time. Chase was able to go with us. We me Granddad and Grandmom there (my parents) and my cousins Angie and Amy and their little girls Alex and McCala. The kids enjoyed riding the train and the carousel, jumping on a moon walk, and seeing many animals. Chloe's favorite animal to see was a big black pot bellied pig and the guinea pigs. Abbey's favorite animal was the big cow. John Caedmon was just happy to be there! It was a hot day but it was fun.
